The first thing to know is that we will be able to take advantage of this possibility only if the user activates the Ads Customization.\nWith Ad Customization Enabled\nIt is necessary because it allows Google to have a global view across multiple browsers or devices. You can see how a user browses products in an Ecommerce on their phone, and subsequently returns via a browser on their PC.\nNormally this expires after 26 months, but we can still configure in Analytics the 'Data Retention' under Property > Tracking Information, to opt for a short or longer period.\n\nDo you have it enabled as a user?\nCheck it out at this link: https:\/\/adssettings.google.com\/authenticated!\n\nAds Personalization allows Google to...\nUse your user account information to make Ads more relevant on the Search Network, Partners or the different Apps. Otherwise, it can only base on web content or location. Thus, Google:\n\n \tIncludes browsing data from many Webs and Apps.\n \tStores user data according to the preferences set in the activity control.\n\nThis results in:\n\n \tGoogle's control of advertising when you are not logged in. How? It will use stored data from your user experience to display commercial messages on relevant websites, and will manage your activity on the Search Network to display relevant ads.\n\n\nPlease note that this only applies to browsers or devices where you are previously logged in with the same account. Of course, if you use multiple accounts, each account works with its own settings.\n\nOn the other hand, sometimes people may use services manufactured by different providers in combination with Google services. There, it is not always possible to identify the user. For example: if you first use Google Chrome and subsequently click inside the Facebook App (which takes you to its own browser within the app). In this case Google cannot guarantee it.\nAnd if we add to this 'Enable Google Signals'?\n\n\n \tIt informs us precisely about the user counts among the different devices: 1 day active, 7 days, 30 days,....\n \tInsight on different groups of users based on different combinations between devices. To focus on a more valuable set, with better return.\n \tEnabling Google Signals gives us a journey from start to finish, through user behavior between devices: paths, funnels,...\n \tReport on ad spend on more than one device: channels, campaigns,...\n \tDo valuable remarketing thanks to the Cross Device Report data.\n\nIncompatibilities\n\n \tData collected by Google signals is not exported to BigQuery.\n \tIt is not yet possible to use it in Analytics dashboards, Custom Reports or Custom Tables.\n \tGoogle Analytics also does not allow access to this information at the moment, in User ID views.\n \tIn cross-device reports, we are not yet able to apply segments. They also do not show intraday data.\n \tCross-device is not yet enabled for application properties.\n \tThe information collected by Google Signals cannot be applied in the Reporting API and likewise does not allow it to be used in Google Data Studio.\n\n Enable Google Signals:\n\nIn the Analytics Property > Data Collection > if we have it available, we will see a notification to 'Get Started'.\n\n\nThen, we follow all the steps....\n\n\nWe can choose to configure it for all properties or only for some of them.\n\n\nAnd you are ready to go!
